Short answer: Imogen is for drafting brief alt text for one image. You still decide whether the image needs words at all, edit the draft, and ship the final attribute yourself.
The job
Imogen is listed on the official Grok Bot marketplace as an image interpreter. Its public description focuses on brief, copyable alt text that communicates the important part of an image to someone who cannot see it.
You bring one image and its page context. You leave with a candidate alt string. mybot has not independently run Imogen, so this is a practical way to judge a draft — not a review, transcript, or promise about its output.
Who should use it
Use it when you control the page and need alt text for a product screenshot, documentation figure, newsletter image, or UI mock. Skip it for decorative images, where empty alt (alt="") may be correct, and for dense charts whose underlying data belongs in the page.
What it will not do
- It will not make an entire site accessible or certify WCAG compliance.
- It will not decide whether visible caption text belongs in the page.
- It will not critique the layout, turn Figma into a build spec, publish to your CMS, or include anyone’s private chats.
- It will not see an image you do not send in your own Grok Bot session.
FIRST EXERCISE — ONE HEADER SCREENSHOT
Make the artifact: screenshot only the mybot.lol header: wordmark, Prompts, Notes, Sources, Templates, Community, and “Free to explore.” Crop out the rest.
Write context before Add: “This figure sits under a heading that already says ‘The mybot.lol header.’ A screen-reader user needs the site name and the four sections.” Then send that line with the image and ask for one short alt string.
Pass if: the draft names mybot.lol and the useful navigation without inventorying colors, spacing, or every control. It is short enough to paste into alt="…". Fail if: it invents a purpose, describes decoration, repeats the heading and stops, or writes a design critique instead.
